I’m the Knitting Nanny. I acquired that name from several knitting students who wanted to take me home with them.
I’ve been a fiber artist for more years than I want to admit, but will claim to 40+ years of working with needles and thread or yarn. In addition to my all-consuming knitting habit, I also find time to play my piano. Keeps my fingers limber for all those tricky stitches.
My degree is in Journalism from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. My working experience has been as a technical writer for a computer software company, a legal editor for a law firm, and a visual effects producer in the feature film industry. But through all those variations, I kept knitting!
In 2006 my husband and I “retired” to Prescott, Arizona. We packed up the 2 dogs, 4 cats, oodles of yarn, and car parts (husband’s hobby) and relocated to the mountains in Central Arizona. We’ve been enjoying the seasons, the sweater weather, and making new friends.
Having reinvented myself, again, I'm still knitting!
